Levels and progression in kids’ group ski lessons
Children are grouped by ability to ensure a motivating, well-adapted progression. Each group moves at its own pace, in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Beginner level – First turns on skis
These levels are designed for children who are discovering skiing or have very little experience. The goal is to learn the basics — balance, stopping and those first sliding sensations — all through games, with no pressure and plenty of smiles.
Children aged 3½ to 5 years
The Micropeaks Club

Be able to use a balance bike and feel comfortable staying with the instructor without parents.

Intermediate levels – Building confidence and independence

Children build on their basic skills and learn to better control their speed and direction. They gain confidence and begin to ski more freely on slopes suited to their level.

Have earned the Blue Mouse (ESI) or Ourson (ESF) badge.
🎯 Objectives
You start skiing more smoothly, linking turns with style and building confidence on a wider range of slopes — not just the easy ones! Every session is a chance to progress and feel the glide becoming natural.

Elementary skidded turns. Uphill step turns. Side-slipping and rounded side-slipping.
Bronze Crystal

🎯 Objectives
Learn to link controlled turns, stay balanced as speed increases, and start discovering the joy of skiing on more varied terrain. Confidence and style grow together.
⛷️Technique
Basic parallel turns, skiing straight down the fall line with clearly marked changes in terrain (dips, bumps, etc.). Rounded side-slipping.
Silver Crystal

Link turns with confidence and have fun exploring ever more exciting slopes. New challenges come one after another — with a smile, and the pride of real progress. This is the stage where skiing truly becomes freedom.

Refined parallel turns, short turns, braking side-slip in all conditions, speed-seeking stance, and step turns.
Advanced levels – Fine-tuning skills

This level is designed for children who are already confident on the slopes. Lessons focus on refining technique, improving flow, and increasing enjoyment while skiing on a variety of terrain.

Skiers can link controlled turns on varied terrain, play with speed while keeping control and style, and tackle more technical slopes with confidence. They manage their line according to the gradient, maintaining smooth balance even on changing snow conditions.

Refined turns with clean, carved finishes, controlled short turns, basic jumps, and an introduction to all types of turns and snow conditions.
Gold Crystal

🎯 Objectifs
Skiers can link short and long turns with precision, controlling speed smoothly. They adapt confidently to all snow conditions and terrain. The focus is on mastering line choice, fine edge control, and skiing with consistency.

Expert-level instructor turns on all terrain and snow conditions, advanced short turns (“godille”), mogul fields, and full mastery of carving.
Diamond Crystal

🎯 Objectifs
For those who want to go all in and show real mastery. Precise, controlled carved turn sequences and the ability to adapt to all snow conditions. This is the level where every movement counts — solid edge control, balance and razor-sharp line choice. A real challenge, and the ultimate proof that you ski with the style, confidence and ease of the very best.

Full mastery on all snow conditions and terrain. Complete speed control. Introduction to off-piste skiing and freestyle.
Expert levels – Off-piste | Freeride
From age 11
Maximum 6 riders per instructor
Minimum level: Diamond
This off-piste course is designed to combine technical progression with a fun, hands-on discovery of the mountain environment. Supervised by specialist instructors, teenagers develop their skills in safe and controlled conditions. The programme focuses on enjoyment, exploration and learning. They explore routes away from the groomed slopes, learn the basics of mountain safety, equipment management and search techniques. An ideal course for advanced-level youngsters who want to go beyond groomed runs. A rewarding and exciting experience, in a setting that is both serious and relaxed.
