advice for beginners
No need to be sporty — we walk at your pace, even if your pace suggests you’re quietly waiting for evolution to give you an extra leg
And if you’re coming as a family, do tell us, so we can adjust the outing and avoid the classic scenario where half the group marches heroically ahead while the rest negotiate with a stubborn child who has decided to sit in the snow forever.
Faq
i’ve never tried snowshoeing before — is it for me?
snowshoeing is just like walking… only funnier, and without the inconvenient business of disappearing into deep snow. 😄 it’s an activity anyone can do — perfect for a first try or simply to loosen up the legs a bit. we usually recommend starting with the sunday discovery walk: a nice easy outing, ideal for beginners or for anyone whose muscles still believe it’s summer. your guide will be there to answer all your questions and point you toward the outings best suited for the rest of the week — while pretending not to judge your shoe choices.
and with children?
for children it’s exactly the same: if they enjoy walking and possess at least one molecule of curiosity, they’re good to go. 👣 winter in the mountains is basically a gigantic playground full of stories, mysteries, and things adults pretend to understand. with a playful approach, your guide will keep the little explorers utterly captivated — and heroically answer all their questions, including the inevitable ‘why is snow cold?’ and ‘can we keep this rock forever?’ the ideal outing? thursday’s special trip, designed for discovering the mountain environment with kid-friendly explanations and absolutely no surprise algebra tests. a unique moment to learn, marvel… and return to school armed with enough adventures to make their classmates suspicious
how many people per group?
our groups have eight to ten people — just enough for pleasant company, not enough to start a civil uprising. with fewer humans wandering about, the guide can actually keep track of everyone, answer questions, and share mountain wisdom without needing a megaphone. the atmosphere is warm, the conversations surprisingly sensible, and you get the reassuring feeling of being looked after.
